Archery Competition Guide Lines 2017


The competition will take the form of a day event which will be open to all members of Taceham Hundred District.


All sections will be able to take part i.e. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers  and Adults


All archery will be bare bow.


Permission to shoot form is no longer a requirement in P.O.R.


All equipment will be supplied by Taceham Hundred, no personal kit.


Each Colony / Pack / Troop / Unit will be allocated 12 places in the competition to arrive in time for the start allocated to that section.


Each competitor will be allowed 3 arrows for practise and then the competition of 4 ends with 3 arrows.


The overall “Champion” of the District will be derived by participant with the highest score during the competition.


Beaver Section   09:00 to 11:00.

Cub Section   11:15 to 13:15.

Scout Section   13:30 to 15:00.

Explorers, Network & Adults 15:15 to 16:30

 


Certificate for every entrant

Trophies will be awarded for the section winners and overall “Champion”


Clothing suitable for the activity, the venue will be at Downland Sport Hall, Compton. RG20 6NU


Drinks (tea, coffee, squash etc. will be provided)



Rules and Details of Competition


The competition will be on a sectional basis Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network and Adults.

The round will consist of 12 arrows in 4 ends of 3 arrows on 80cm faces for all competitors. However, the distances will vary to the discretion of the range Captain

GNAS 10 Zone scoring will apply (10,9,8,7,6 etc.)

Once the practise has finished all arrows will count for the competition.

Line cutting will score as the highest value

All competitors shooting or waiting to shoot shall conduct themselves in a proper manor so as to not distract other competitors

The competition Judge’s decision is final

Cost of £3.00 per competitor, payment shall be invoiced to each Group after the event to cover the entrance fee for those attending on the day

Practise and Competition times for each section have been allocated, so please be on time to avoid disappointment.
